Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 15, 2026

1. Who we are

MindDrop Journaling (“MindDrop”, “we”, “us”) is a private journaling service operated by William Rothwell. These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of the MindDrop website and applications (together, the “Service”).

Payments for MindDrop Pro subscriptions are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd., which acts as the Merchant of Record for all purchases. This means Paddle is the seller of the subscription you buy and handles billing, taxes (including VAT and sales tax), payment processing, and refunds on our behalf. References to your purchase or refund rights below are subject to Paddle’s processes as Merchant of Record.

2. The Service and subscriptions

MindDrop lets you check in with your mood, write or record journal entries, and receive AI-generated reflections. New accounts receive a free allowance of five journal entries, with all features included. Continued unlimited journaling requires a MindDrop Pro subscription, billed monthly (US$8.99) or annually (US$89.99).

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account’s billing management, and your benefits remain active until the end of the period you have already paid for.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Your journal entries are private to you; we do not publish or share your entries. If you enable device unlock features, they remain tied to your own devices.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law;
  • upload, store, or share content that is illegal, infringes others’ rights, or promotes harm to yourself or others;
  • attempt to access other users’ accounts or data, probe or breach the Service’s security, or interfere with its operation;
  • resell, sublicense, scrape, or systematically extract content or data from the Service;
  • misrepresent your identity or use the Service to harass anyone.

5. Your content

You keep full ownership of everything you write or record in MindDrop. You grant us a limited licence to store and process your entries solely to operate the Service — for example, to generate your reflections and statistics. Reflections are generated for you alone; your name and email are never shared with the AI model that produces them.

6. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its design, branding, text, and software, is owned by MindDrop Journalingand protected by copyright and other laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of the Service to you. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from the Service except as needed to use it.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, fail to pay amounts due after the applicable payment-retry process, or use the Service in a way that exposes us or other users to legal or security risk. Where practical, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the issue. You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; your existing entries remain available to export for a reasonable period on request.

8. Health disclaimer

MindDrop is a journaling and self-reflection tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychological, or crisis care. If you are in distress or thinking about harming yourself, please contact your local emergency services or an emergency crisis line immediately.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MindDrop Journaling is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new “last updated” date, and material changes will be communicated before they take effect for paid subscribers.
